Here is a new piece that I created before the holidays. I got inspired when I saw an “apples for sale” sign at a small produce market in fresno so I made this. I would put in the vain of my vintage ad posters even though its a little different format. Its up in my store if you want one for your kitchen or house.

My first 4 cover designs for ‘Grimm’s Fairy Tales’, a class brief where we will be submitting to the Penguin Book competition. We had our interim critique today, so I’ll be working on some changes and probably a few more versions.

Letterpress wedding invitation: vintage wood type poster

Using the international printing museum’s collection of antique wood and metal type Three Steps Ahead produced this limited set of posters for a wedding. Three main colour ways were hand inked onto French Speckletone paper.

The result is fantastic as I’m sure you’ll agree.

Amazing typographic graphic design by American designer Luke Williams. Really liking his work, big emphasis on typography and hand lettering, which I really admire. Something I don’t have the skills to do in my own work unfortunately!

Especially loving the ‘Design takes root’ image, great idea and really well done. Looks awesome!

Check out the rest of his work on his website; www.lukelukeluke.com/

"Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things. And the reason they were able to do that was that they’ve had more experiences or they have thought more about their experiences than other people."
